Squat Exo-Armour Complete

I finished the first of the 4 squats, 3 more to go. With a model this old, it really did feel like it was fighting me sometimes; about half way through I did catch myself shouting "she can't take the pressure captain!" and spraying paint up the wall.

Seriously though these are hard to paint; they weigh a ton, and the centre of gravity is really weird. It makes them a little tough to handle.

  1. Great old skool mini, I have a squad of five lurking in the closet of doom, I'm considering basing them on 40mm base and plan on using as Terminators proxy, in friendly games. May have to use some cork to raise them up slightly though!

    1. They are pretty small!

Interestingly though, they weren't really akin to terminators - having a 4+ on 2 dice, while terminators had a 3+ on 2 dice. You could probably get away with using them as regular power armoured guys of some type, but I have no idea what (veterans maybe?).

  2. Awesome work - I always love seeing old school models like this see the light of day again!

    1. Thanks. It is fun to paint a few odd old models sometimes - there are some real gems out there (although personally I like some of the old metal Tyranids most of all).

  3. Squaaaaattsss!!! The yellow armor looks really nice and the teal details are nice. Squats were before my time, but it would be cool to see them make a come back
