Slaanesh Chaos Lord on Bike

I promised Chaos every day this week, and I'm sticking to it. Today, I have another converted chaos lord. This time on a bike. This is a newer model than a lot of the ones that I've been posting, but still dates back a bit. I think I built him somewhere in 6th Edition.

The bike is actually a standard Chaos bike, with a lot of extra parts added and sculpted in. The demonic hood part is made from the underside of a Forgefiend's head combined with some spares from a Defiler and a Terminator's torso. The rider is built from one of the Dark Vengeance Chosen, grafted onto a standard biker's legs. Getting the snap-fit parts to work was a struggle, but it was well worth it. In particular fitting the cape was rather difficult.

The power maul has had its ups and downs as far as rules are concerned. It gives the model a great stat line though with T5 and S6. I guess that will all change shortly though, so I'll be interested to see whether it will be an effective combination in the new edition. Speaking of the new edition, I pre-ordered a copy of Index Chaos the other day, so I should be all set to try these guys out with the new rules.

Anyway, that about rounds it out. I'm calling Friday the end of the week, so this is the last of the chaos posts for the moment. Leave a comment below, or follow the blog if you've enjoyed this rather Chaotic week.

    1. Thanks. It has been a fun week getting all of these conversions up on the blog.

  2. That's a great example of a flawless conversion. It doesn't look like the parts you used, and it all blends in great with the bike. Great work.

As for the maul, it's better now in my opinion since it's still +2S, but now also -1AP. At least now it will have an impact against power armor, where before it was useless in that regard.

    1. Running the math, it used to have a 5/18 (5/6 * 1/3) chance per Hit of putting a Wound on a MEq, and it now has a 6/18 (2/3 * 1/2) chance, so it got better there. On the other hand, it lost some effectiveness against a lot of Vehicles due to changes in their Rules and the new Wound table, so it's no longer as good of an all-rounder. On another hand, the Power Axe and Sword also improved, possibly by even more as all-rounders. On yet another hand (need to be a Fobottr to cover this topic properly!), they all got much cheaper, so the differences are rather less important, since it's easier to take more options in total and cover all the bases.

    2. I think the -1 armour modifier should make it a bit better, although the maths is giving me a headache!

I'll be interested to see where they go with daemon weapons this time too, as they might change a lot. I guess we'll see.

    3. I've seen the math run (somewhere), and the power axe still comes out as the best all-around weapon. Not surprising really when you factor it's between a maul and sword. That being said, I really like that each type of weapon has a value now. Instead of what's the best, it's more about what's the best for the situation, as they all shine in different situations. I'll be using all types as needed now.

    4. Yeah, I love it when you can make an argument for every weapon/option as it means I can use all of the models I love without feeling like I'm taking one in the pants with over costed ineffective choices!

  4. For someone who does not know the whole range of Chaos models, this would look like a pre-made Lord :D

It looks very, very good...though, no Bolguns attached to...well, somewhere?

  5. Thanks! I'm surprised you noticed the lack of bolters. Honestly, I tried fitting some, but it ruined the look, so in the end I just left them off...

  6. what did you use for the front wheel and the connecting wheel forks?

    1. An old Ork Truck wheel and some spares from a Defiler. I'm not sure what the original bit is for on a Defiler though as I've never built one stock. I think it's part of the weapon mount.
